Pierpaolo Zampini is the president of Tesla Owners Club Italy and CEO of Ecolibera, a zero-emission property development company, who is currently EV-touring Australia over a 3-week period. He chose one of evee’s Teslas Model S for the trip and is documenting the 5,000 km journey on Facebook and Instagram.
Pierpaolo’s Australian tour is part of his global mission to travel the world in an EV to demonstrate that electric cars are not the future, but already the present and in a very short time will be available to many. Since 2016 he has already traversed Europe, USA, UAE and is going to Japan next. In Australia Pierpaolo is travelling from Sydney to Adelaide to Townsville along the coast and then back via inland. He is visiting main cities as well as remote locations where electric cars haven’t been seen before.
Pierpaolo’s involvement in sustainability goes beyond travelling in a Tesla. His company Ecolibera develops energy-plus housing solutions in Italy, which pay off over time with zero bills. They actually produce all the energy needed, with zero emissions, enough even for an electric car.

Pierpaolo’s Australian tour proves that long distance travel in an EV is already a reality – a view not currently shared by many in Australia. When someone from a different country can land here for the very first time and immediately set off to drive 5,000 kms in just 3 weeks, it defeats the very notion of range anxiety. The informally defined “worry on the part of a person driving an electric car that the battery will run out of power before the destination or a suitable charging point is reached”, or simply “range anxiety” should no longer be seen as a barrier to EV uptake.
Kozlovskii adds “This is the longest road trip an evee customer has undertaken so far. Many don’t realise that there are more power sockets in more remote areas than petrol stations. And each of those power sockets is a source of energy for your electric car.”
