5 simple tips

to get your car photos right

Tip #1: Set the scene

When to shoot:
  • Close to sunrise or sunset for soft lighting
  • Avoid shooting in the middle of day
  • Try to minimise reflections and shadows as much as possible (e.g. avoid heavy canopy)
Where to shoot:
  • Choose open areas to shoot the car
  • Avoid tight, dark spaces (e.g. garage, car park)
  • Ensure you have a nice background setting
  • Avoid any distracting background objects (e.g. bins, power lines, other cars)

Tip #2: Let your car shine

Please ensure your car is looking its absolute best when taking photos for your listing. Try to take photos after it’s been freshly washed and the interior has been cleaned. Don’t forget to clear any clutter you may have inside the car.

Tip #3: Cover all angles

Make sure to have a variety of shots, including different angles and perspectives. This allows renters to get a better understanding of your car and its features. Make sure the photos aren't blurry, stretched, or distorted. Cover the following:

  • Front and back
  • Various side and diagonal angles
  • Close ups and wide angle shots
  • Interior (e.g. dashboard)
  • Storage
  • Any accessories (e.g. charging adapters, child seat)

Tip #4: Keep it simple

Let your photos do the work.

  • Avoid any text overlays or logos
  • Go with natural colours – no black and white or heavy filters
  • No collages of several photos

Tip #5: Don’t use stock photos

Stock photos seem like a tempting idea, but they can mislead potential renters. The power of a car sharing platform like evee is the What-You-See-Is-What-You Get benefit. So show the true colours of your car with all its trims, dings and scratches. Only exception: if you have ordered a new car, you can temporarily use a placeholder image for your listing.
